“A shipping, commodities and aviation litigator with high-value courtroom experience before the Singapore High Court, Court of Appeal, and major international arbitral institutions.”
Tony advises shipowners, commodities traders, aviation businesses and lenders on litigation and international arbitration. He appears before the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal, and has acted under SIAC, SCMA, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, GAFTA and ad hoc rules.

Tony Tan is a Director of Havelock Law and he counsels clients on litigation and international arbitration matters in the areas of shipping, international trade and commodities, aviation and shareholder disputes.

Tony represents clients on high-value transactions before the High Court and the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Singapore, and has acted in SIAC, SCMA, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, GAFTA and ad hoc arbitrations. He routinely advises ship owners, commodities traders, aviation support and P2P lending companies.

Before joining Havelock Law, Tony started his legal career as a naval officer and legal counsel in the Ministry of Defense before practising for several years at a US international firm and a Big 4 local firm.

Tony is effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin.

Over the years, Tony has handled international trade and commodity disputes, shipping and admiralty marine insurance, logistics, offshore oil and gas, and aviation-related work.
